Description
When removing green dye or cactus from a furnace, no XP is awarded.
When removing ore, stone, [baked] potatoes, or ingots from a furnace or blast furnace, the player is awarded with the proper amount of XP.
So the issue seems cactus-specific -- although, admittedly, I did not test every single smeltable item in the game. ;)
